Nighttime tales

I can't sleep
I walk
My brain
Doesn't stop
The neurons
Slapping themselves
Ordering themselves
Swinging
Like a kid
In a park.

In one side
The fear
The self-hatred
The confusion
Dilating my pupils
Sucking all darkness
Stealing all air
Covered in my own arms
I guard myself
Try to go through
Wait for the seconds
Dodging my bad thoughts.

On the other side
The hope
The excitement in the tummy
The crafting of unimaginable possibilities
The taste of heaven in my mouth
Pulsing my heart
Through all dense fog
In the memory of the eye
The light
Only thing
Moving me forward
Appeasing my mind
Believing
Remembering
What's to come.
