What is the source of evil and good? Multifaceted perhaps, but there must have a common element.
It's a difficult equation, and the closest I've got is responsibility or lack of thereof.
Everything has a benefit and a price, both for others and oneself.
In every action, you can choose to be responsible for the price, to eventually pay for it, or try to ignore its existence.
Then what should be evil?
It's the binging of acting until a fatal overdose.
It's the act of acting for acting itself, without regard for others or even oneself.
It grows exponentially and, before you know it, you will be acting, doing, too much. The bill will be too high, and you will never be able to repay the debt.
And one may not do much in this world, trapped and limited by one's own existence, but good is created as long as responsibility exists for each action.
One may have fire, hungry, ambitious, but his actions must remain humble, assessed, accounted.
To live well, to grow, to thrive, to evolve, is to act and write checks one can pay.
Call it karma, God or fate.
The world itself is the most generous lender of the universe.
the most unpredictable borrower
The most rewarding payer
It gives you all tools and bricks to build homes, dreams, planets, castles, empires.
But it is also the one debt collector you can never run from.
The payer that always eventually pays you.
